If you follow the Ruby community in any detail, you've probably heard of MagLev. It's an incredible new Ruby VM that "scales". If you're tired of hearing about scaling, give this one a chance. In a year or so when this Ruby VM matures, I look forward to using this to build a new app. Here is the video from RailsConf:
